For years I have used gas powered small tillers in my garden. I decided to take a chance on the Bilt Hard electric and am very pleased with the results. It really does everything my gas tillers did. You have to deal with the electric cord but that is easily manageable. I really enjoy pushing the switch versus multiple cord pulls on the gas versions which seem mandatory since this tool is used only occasionally. Over the years I also paid the $80 tune-up charge just to be able to use the darn thing. If the Bilt Hard holds up I would rate it an excellent buy.

It did get tangled a lot with straw or vines; IMHO, there are a design flaws that steer tanglers right to the base of where the tines are attached. I added some large wooden "washers" by the innermost tines to fill those pinch points, which helped.

This compact rototiller is a beast. Not hard to control with strong and deep digging. Big recommend!!

Works well for tilling an existing small garden. Was able to convert a grassy area to garden, but it took a good deal of effort. Like the long handles, and it is not real loud. Seems sturdy overall. Hit a few small stones and tines were not damaged. Found it useful to put a 10inch wide board next to wire garden fencing as it can bounce while in use. Free shipping order came quicker than anticipated to Western NY. A few surface scratches when it arrived. Overall it exceeded my expectations for the price paid.
