I'm assuming that oil was added so that the engine could be tested before shipping. The problem is that it was not drained before being shipped. At some point, UPS likely turned the box on its side and the entire contents were pickled in oil. It was seeping through the side of the box when it was delivered. It took me all day just to get it started because the intake was full of oil as was the spark plug, exhaust, and magneto. I had to use half a can of starting fluid just to get it running long enough to burn off all the oil. Once I finally got it started, and cleaned all the oil from every surface it ran great. I'm complety satisfied with the washer but there needs to be some steps implemented to assure that all the oil is drained before packaging.

Oily little bugger
So the first thing I noticed was much of the unit and packaging was covered in oil. Upon further inspection I found that the oil cap was not fully seated and in fact was very loose. Apparently after testing the oil reservoir was not fully drained. After cleaning and assembling the unit I added the bottle of oil provided, which was the exact amount required, and the reservoir overflowed. What a mess. It took more time to do all the oil clean up than to actually assemble the unit. The only problem with the assembly was that I had to elongate one of the holes on the detergent tank. No biggie. The engine started after a few pulls and I ran it with a surface cleaner for about thirty minutes with no issues. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend it to others, although I can't attest to longevity yet.

This pump is powerful and fast! I pumped out a 1500 gallon decorative back yard pond in about 15 minutes with this. The wheels and handle make it so easy to move around.
